Joe: I need all the money in your cup (a little cup I keep by my bed to put my coins in).

Me: Why?

Joe: Because if we bring money to school we might win a 1001 dollars.

Me: Is your school doing Pennies for Patients?

Joe: Yes

Me: You know that money will help Patients in hospitals.

Joe: NO!! It's for us...if we wait then we'll get a surprise!

No matter how I tried to explain it...he just kept believing the money was for BEING patient not FOR patients.

some more stuff

1. I'm done being sick..finally. Have I mentioned that I'm not a good sick person?

2. Joe is really struggling...we could use some prayers. He's close to being the first boy ever to be kicked out of kindergarten. Well, maybe not the first boy ever...but MY first boy ever. He is just so volatile....so quick to anger and lashes out at other kids. He has an appointment with a counselor in March. I'm just feeling so badly about this and wondering what I've done, or not done to produce this angry child. I don't think the medication is working very well and I actually think it may be making things worse. ***Big Ole Sigh***

3. Auditions were this week for the Spring Play at North Star.....Josh and Zack both auditioned. Hope they both get parts. Soda Pop...is the name of the play, anyone ever heard of it?

4. Zack backed my van into the house....now my van has a nice ouchie...well, to be honest, it's not so nice. Now when he's driving I have to say...."Hey, watch out!! There's a house there!"

5. Megan is bored out of her mind....no friends close by, not interested in making jewelry lately. I'm not sure what to have her do....

6. I'm really really really sick of winter....where is Spring?

7. Matthew is being a big help lately with playing with the kids...thanks Matthew!

8. I'm really wishing for a trip to Utah.

9. I just finished reading a Mary Higgens Clark book...I like her books, very entertaining.

Some Stuff

1. Happy Birthday to my hubby...he's 40 now, the same as me. It's about time, maybe now Joe will stop reporting..."my mom is older than my dad" to anyone who will listen.

2. I've been sick since Friday, it came upon me like a tidal wave and I was not ready for it! Spent Friday Afternoon and most of Saturday in bed. I am not a good sick person...I am that person who tells everyone over and over again "I'm sick" until they are all yelling in unison "WE KNOW!"

3. Joe is on Aderall XR and has been for about 3 weeks now. His behavior at school was getting worse and hopefully this will help...so far....I'm not sure, I'll have to let you know. Life just seems hard for him right now. He wants what he wants when he wants it and when it doesn't happen like he imagined it's not a pretty sight. It's a work in progress....

4. Finances and Stress...not dealing well with either one of 'em.

5. The older boys are really into Speech...now, this a is a whole world I knew nothing about. They are both excelling at it and I'm happy for them...but don't enjoy all the time they spend away.....

6. We are considering having Megan skip to 9th grade next year. I just think it would be a good thing...just a gut feeling on my part. She is thrilled at the idea but will have to prove to me that she's ready.

7. Hannah is loving her new daycare and I am tickled about it.

8. I'm so ready for winter to be over with...I really don't like it.

9. We're in a new ward...it's hard. I have a calling....enrichment leader (is it called something else now?)

10. I've been feeling rather blue and I'm sure this post portrays some of my feelings. I miss Utah...I really wish I could just get over it and move on....I'll keep trying.

ps...did I mention that I'm sick?

My Girl

She's so much fun right now. I love to watch her play. She has such a big imagination. Yesterday she had two shoe boxes...took them apart and drew her "dream" on one of them and Joe's "dream" on the other. Her dream included Cinderella, a short princess, and Murphy who had been turned into a horse. Joe's dream included Aliens. The whole time she was drawing she was singing to herself and telling the stories of the dreams. She plays with her dolls, stuffed animals and little ponies in much the same way...singing and talking away. She reminds me so much of a girl version of Josh. She loves her dress ups and LOVES to draw and color. She is in love with me right now....it's "I want mommy to do it". I need to eat this up now because one day she will be a teenager and she will not "want mommy to do it" anymore. Man, how precious she is and how thankful I am for her.

What I did yesterday

I had a day off....I stayed in my pj's all the day long and watched Season 5 of The Office. I didn't clean or do laundry or any of those yucky things. It was marvelous!
Molly and Murphy also enjoyed my day off.
What was Hannah up to? Oh...just playing. It was a good time had by all!

A STORY

This is Megan

And these are Megan's feet

These are the shoes Megan usually wears.

When it's cold and snowy these are the shoes she wears.

Just imagine the joy her mother felt when she used her Christmas money to buy these! REAL SHOES...it's a MIRACLE!

She gave her mom a big hug.

Conversations....while sleeping

Aaron came home last night and I was out for the count. He tried to have a conversation with me and it went something like this....

Aaron: I think we should try the star sticker system with Joe...when he wakes up dry (he still wets the bed almost every night) he'll get 2 stars and when he swallows his pill (he is now on Aderall just like his brother) he'll get 1 star.

Me: That's too confusing...I'll never be able to understand that.

Things I like about winter...

Cold water right out of the faucet....
