Baseball Fever

Here we go! Josh and Matthew are both doing Little League this year. I found out today that Josh will have practices Monday and Wednesday nights and Matthew will have them Tuesday and Thursday nights. Matthew had his first practice today....he really liked it, this will be his first year playing. This is Josh's 5th year playing. They do this strange thing here...the team names are the company's name who is sponsering them. So, Matthew's is the Meeske Custom Trim team. And Josh's is The McDonald's team. I liked it better in Utah where they had actual baseball team names.....oh well. So, I guess I'll be doing a lot of listening to books on CD as I shuttle them to their practices and games every week. Right now I'm listening to a Mary Higgins Clark, I'm actually excited to have to drive so I can try to figure out who the killer is...anywho! Baseball ROCKS!

If you can't say something nice............

I remember this line from one of my favorite movies...it goes something like this...."I'm not crazy. I've just been a very bad mood for the past 40 years." That's how I've felt for the past week. I keep thinking I should blog...but I have nothing nice to say. Stress is rearing it's ugly head around here again. Aaron's work is very slow. Zack and Josh are lazy teen age sloths that seem to just have NO energy until it's time to go do something fun with friends. Half the time I feel like Megan despises me and if I have to endure one more eyeroll from her I may just cry. Matthew is actually doing well besides his constant fighting with his siblings...Joe is driving me nuts! He CAN NOT hold still even for one moment! Hannah is three....need I say more? Well....I will today she had a major screaming, crying melt down because Megan turned on a movie for her and she wanted "mommy" to do it. Then at church I realized I'm not doing all I should be doing and I went home feeling guilty and inadequate. I'm feeling guilty for working and sad that I'm not home with the kids and I can tell it's affecting them and our home but don't know what else to do. And then tonight we discovered that some lovely ant family has found a way into our house.......yay for us! See....this is why I haven't blogged...............don't say anything at all!

Easter

I had to work on Saturday but I skipped my lunch and got off early and raced home to take the kids to the neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt. They had a grand time! Megan and Matthew participated in the egg toss instead of getting eggs..they had fun too.
It was sad and hard not to be with extended family but we had a nice time together anyway. We sure miss Utah at times like this!
I'm so thankful for my faith and for my Savior.

All the kids before they went on a hunt to find their baskets.

Hannah found hers behind a pillow on the dog's kennel.

Matthew's was in the dishwasher.
Joe found his next to the sofa.

Josh found his basket in a drawer in the entertainment center.

Megan was the last to find her basket.....it was in the computer desk cabinet.

Zack found his first....it was in the top of the closet with all the games.
He was sneeking candy BEFORE his insulin shot...what was his sugar when he finally checked it? 247!

Everyone with their loot.

Self Nappers Unite

A couple days ago I was in the kitchen doing the dishes when I suddenly heard something...well...nothing, I heard nothing...so I went to investigate and this is what a found...a nap party! Though I found that Joe was just pretending to nap!

Going Commando

Yesterday was Joe's kindergarten check up. Our pediatricians office had it set up so that they went into different rooms for each part of the check up. First he got weighed and measured. He's 45 lbs and 46 1/2 inches tall. He's in the 80th percentile for both. Then he went in to have his vitals checked. Then he had his eyes checked and his ears. All was running smoothly. The next room we went to was to actually see the Dr. We love Dr. Bargen...she's awesome! Anyway....she was checking to make sure all was well with him....and then it came time to check his privates. She was so good to explain to him that only certain people could see his privates and she asked me if it was okay....when I suddenly felt so worried that he didn't have any underpants on...you see, he has been doing that lately, not wearing underpants...who knows why...I think he thinks it's funny. So, I had time to say "I hope he's wearing underpants." and she replied "Not today".....I was so embarrassed. I set them out for him and everything. I said "well, now you know he can dress himself....just not all the way". I guess I should of checked for that before we left :)

Conversations

Hannah is getting older and when I'm home she always wants me to help her go to the potty. She says she "can't" do it by herself...the problem? She goes by herself when Aaron's home and over at Brenda's (her babysitter). Yesterday we had this little conversation

Hannah: I have to go pee mommy...come help me!

Me: How come when daddy is home you don't have him come help you?

Hannah: (after thinking about it for a minute) I doesn't have to go pee when daddy is home.

The Great Easter Egg Hunt

Josh and Zack were in their high school Spring play. Zack was Judge Budford Pulander and Josh was in the ensemble. Here are a couple clips from the play. We should be able to get the full play on DVD soon. The play was about a small town in Florida where they were having an Easter Egg hunt to find a golden egg. It's a comedy...and Zack played the Judge, who was officiating the festivities. He slowly becomes more and more inebriated from drinking mrs. ewly's "cider". It was so funny and he did such a good job. This was Josh's first time on stage instead of being behind the scenes...he had a fun time. I'm so glad they are both so involved with school activities.
