Girlfriends

I have always had a love for friends. My friends have helped me through some tremendous trials and they have been there for the good times. From my earliest memories I have loved having friends. My earliest memory is of playing with friends in the laundry room of the apartments we lived in when I was a preschooler. As a teen I had two girlfriends who meant the world to me. One of them, Katie, has gone on to Heaven and I miss her every day. Shelly and I have drifted apart, I still think of her so often and miss her so much. My sister Jenny and I have become so close and I just feel so bad that when we were young I didn't appreciate her like I do now. I have a friend in my wonderful sister in law, Michelle...without her I don't know if I could handle being married to a "Schafer Brother". I have my cousin, Christine, who is my cousin by marriage and by love. I have a little group of friends from my ChaddsFord days, Alison, Nikki, Danelle, Christine and Michelle, we still get together for a once a year Christmas ornament exchange...I love them like sisters! I have such wonderful memories of my early married days, living in Balmoral with so many wonderful women to call friend! Remember all of our fun GNO's? Lia's sleepover....kidnapping Bonnie.....all the meals at Chili's...and the laughing until we were almost peeing in Jacque's van!! those were such fun days!! I have my most wonderful friend Rebekah who is my email buddy...she has been my lifesaver during these years away from home. I struggled in St George...I've always made friends easily...but not there. I'm happy to say that in the end I did make some friends there. Michelle is so sweet and is always thinking of me. My lovely friends at Dixie Regional are so dear to my heart. Now I am making new friends. As I look back I feel so blessed for all of the wonderful women who have impacted my life....thank Heaven for girlfriends!! Without them, I don't know where I'd be.

Kim you have impacted my life as well and will always been one of my most cherished friends. I miss you so much and am glad we have technology to make the mile seem a few less.

I love you Sister! You have the most awesome memory! But, I hope that you forget some of my crappy moments.

The Schafer brothers would be nothing if they didn't have us! They are luckeeeeey!

I agree. Having girlfriends and GNO's once in a while is a must. Especially with how crazy life is now. It's so nice to have time away with good friends. Love the pics of your kids on here. They are so big! Crazy.

The day we kidnapped Bonnie was great. Man I miss that Toyota Sienna. I have so many fun memories doing things with you and the Balmoral gals. Making Christmas cards until all hours of the morning. You always had the funnest parties for scrapbooking & stamping. We never ran out of things to talk about, and you always told the funniest stories. I always enjoyed being with you, I especially miss all the laughing we did.

That was a very nice tribute, Kim. Those GNOs were fun. Good Times. For whatever reason, I'm remembering one right now where Lia was worried if I was ok with all the laughter and talk at one....until someone opened up the white elephant that I had brought....and I remember after some GNOs groggily walking home in the early hours of the morning (or was it late hours of the morning?) Thank you for including me- those were fun!

I love that picture. I sure miss all our girl's nights. Still trying to make those kind of connections here. (sigh)
