A Post From Megan

Megan... This is a blog entry by Megan Schafer.
My mom is the best!
She is cool enough to let me stay up and write this, right now its 10:20.
Oh, and guess what...Everyone is asleep, or they should be.
My mom is cool she took us to the zoo ( oh and thanks grandma kay too).
We got our pictures taken earlier, and she helped keep Hannah and Joe still and smiling, and that's hard to do! Any other mom would just leave it to the photographer.
Ope Dads hope from the store he's cool too. I wounder what he'll say about me being on and writing this. My moms so cool she might even check the spelling of this for me because it summer and I have forgot how to spell every thing. My teacher will luv me. Any way, now my mom is singing to Hannah, again. She does that a lot Hannah likes a lot the same songs! And then sings them to me to even if i tell her I want to sleep. Oh, I guess I have to go..."OK now go to bed"
Bye,
Megan

Zane is here!

I picked up my nephew Zane from the airport on Friday the 17th. I even kept it a secret from my kids. I told them I had a meeting to go to and I went and got him and brought him home...they were very surprised it was awesome! He'll be here til the 3rd of August...we'll be sad when it's time for him to go.

Just the Facts Ma'am

Yesterday was a long day. I was up at 345am, after a not very good night of sleep, getting ready for work. I worked all day, came home took the kids to Amigos (fast food restaurant) (Zane has been begging for a frenchee, which is a very very sinful deep fried grilled cheese sandwich), then we went to Walmart where Matthew spent some of his birthday money on Mario Kart....we came home and I got ready to go and volunteer at the Lofte...that is where Zack is performing in the play "Crazy For You". I sat at a table selling raffle tickets. The Lofte is WAAAAYYY out in the land of corn....about 45 minutes from our house. It's a very scenic..cornish drive! So after sitting at the raffle table I got to see the play for free...it's so good! Well..the cast was having a party afterwards and everyone was spending the night out there in tents....Zack left his stuff in my van so I had to wait for him after the show to get his things....by the time I was out on the road it was around 1030....I was exhausted...I do mean exhausted! I wondered how I was going to make it home. I got about five minutes away when Zack called...he left his insulin in the van...I had to turn around and go back. Okay...so it was pitch black out!!! I could not see a thing! I could not find the road I needed to turn onto to get to the Lofte.....I was driving slowly and looking at my GPS. There was a car right behind me so I pulled over onto a dirt road to let him pass...he did not go around me...he also pulled onto the dirt road and pulled up right behind me...I was freaked! I was alone and there was NO ONE around! Then the lights came on...the flashing red and blue lights...and the BIG flood light!! The officer asked me if everything was okay....he noticed I was driving very slowly and swerving a little....oh my, I thought....I'm so stinkin tired that if this guy asked me to get out and walk a straight line...I don't think I'd be able to do it!! Luckily he believed the truth...I was lost!! He let me follow him to the Lofte...thank you officer! I got Zack his meds and made it home at 1130 and was up again at 4am to go to work......needless to say I took a nap today!

Thoughts I had while sitting in the ER......

1. Baseball is not a backyard game..especially with little ones around.

2. What a great idea to put TV's with cable on them in the ER rooms...who can resist Boomarang?

3. Boy...I've not seen Joe this still and quiet (while awake) in many many moons.

4. I'm so tired...I could take a nap!

5. So, this is how the DeMilles spend their time...LOL.

6. I'm so thankful for insurance.

7. I'm so thankful Joe's okay...no stitches...no broken jaw...just some glue.

8. Megan really needs to work on her swing!

I SCREAM FOR.....BASEBALL!

OH MAN!! I have LOVED watching Josh's games this year! This is his sixth year playing Little League. He's played in West Valley, Magna, St. George and now Lincoln. When we signed Josh up last year we didn't know anyone and so we didn't request a certain team. He was assigned with Coach Dean. Dean is an awesome man who volunteers his time as a coach and he doesn't even have a son on the team. (though he has a close family friend on the team) Last year those boys worked so hard and tried and tried and didn't win a game! It was so sad and so hard for them to lose each game. So, this year when Josh found out he was with Coach Dean again we were a little weary...wondering if we'd have a losing season again. About half the boys from last year are back with a few new ones. Coach Dean had some help from Joey...a wonderful coach who has helped the boys with their pitching, hitting and catching skills. The boys have an awesome cheering section of mom's, dad's, friends and other relatives....we all love to watch them! So far they have won 8 and lost 6......although winning isn't everything...it sure feels good!

These pictures were taken last year and though I wish I could take credit for them....I can't, they were taken by a grandmother of one of the players and she gave them to us. I love them!
Josh has improved so much with his hitting this year.

He usually plays catcher...or in the outfield.

He's really good about flipping off his helmet so he can go after the ball.

This was an awesome play.....he tagged him out!!
